                                    Collections Management & Databases

As your collections grow and storage capacity shrinks, you are likely considering your collecting policies and space needs, focusing on how your collections best fit your mission and operating goals.

We can work with you to develop a collections policy, make recommendations regarding de-accessioning, review storage needs, and develop collections management tools that will optimize staff efficiency.  We have worked with many different institutions, and specialize in fostering collaboration among institutions with common collecting goals and shared strategic visions.Back to overview of Our Services

                                    Examples of Our Work

City Hall under construction, from 'Philadelphia: The Great Experiment'
For the documenary series "Philadelphia: The Great Experiment," we worked with 40 cultural institutions to draft and implement a mutually beneficial rights & reproductions policy.  This facilitated the procuring of images and other resources for the seven-part series.  View project page

As part of Ben Franklin 300, we worked with database developers and a subject expert to create the online Frankliniana Database -- a record of all known life portraits of Franklin and objects owned by him.  (It is now administered by the Phillips Museum of Art at Franklin & Marshall College.)  View project page

The institutional collaboration that will be the film project's hallmark was entirely their creation and will enable the film to be a truly community-wide undertaking.  These two really know what they're doing.
