                                    Educational Planning

If educational outreach is a component of your mission, we have the expertise to help you reach teachers and students.

We have conducted in-depth studies of educational resources in various topic areas, built lesson plans, facilitated trunk shows to accompany exhibitions, conducted teacher workshops, worked with teachers to develop curricula, and studied the feasibility of a major new education center in the nation’s capital.

                                    Examples of Our Work

We created an interdisciplinary Educators' Guide to supplement the exhibition we curated for Vision 2020 on gender equality.  The downloadable Guide contains a range of ideas and ready-to-use resources -- keyed to national standards -- for educators teaching about gender issues in their classrooms.  View project page

To inform the program and space planning of the forthcoming American Revolution Center, and help pave the way for collaboration, we conducted a study of related education resources on its behalf.  The process included surveying a focus group of regional educators, as well as education staff at local institutions.

It meets everything I ever sought as a teacher because it informs, educates and entertains -- not necessarily in that order.  The "Hooks" section is superstar stuff.

We engaged Chester County Historical Society to create an education program for the Civil War Road Show based on their successful "traveling trunk" concept.  The "trunk" contains historical reproduction objects and primary sources, and related activity materials for middle school educators.  View project page
