                                    Operations

Though ideally invisible to visitors, the operation and management of your site is a key ingredient in the visitor experience.

Operating a museum or historic site, particularly one that is new or growing, can be daunting.  We have worked with clients to develop operation and management plans, from staffing to visitor flow to financial projections.  We promote forward-thinking to enable you to budget and develop realistic projections.

First-year stops of the Civil War Road Show tour
We developed a full operations plan for the Civil War Road Show, a four-year, 80-stop mobile exhibition tour based in an expandable tractor-trailer.  The plan includes venue coordination, insurance, scheduling and site preparation.  View project page

For the forthcoming Benjamin Franklin Museum at Franklin Court, we worked with the architects, exhibit and graphic designers, and Park staff to map out plans for operations, staffing, ticketing, visitor flow and wayfinding.  View project page

Every aspect of what was a very complex consortial, multi-media, and international project was carried out flawlessly, bringing great credit to the participating institutions.

For the Ben Franklin 300 exhibition, we developed the tour schedule and provided oversight and coordination.  After opening in Philadelphia, the 8,000-square-foot exhibition traveled to St. Louis, Houston, Denver, Atlanta, and then Paris.  We provided training to host venue staff in operations, maintenance and security.  View project page
